Imagine winning $1.000.000, but never claiming the prize money. Well, that’s about to happen to one lotto player from Georgia if they don’t come forward in the next few days. They purchased a winning Mega Millions ticket almost six months ago, and if they want $1.000.000 in their pockets now’s the time to come forward.
Mysterious resident of Georgia matched the five main winning numbers 11, 17, 50, 52 and 74, but missed the Mega Ball 14 in the Mega Millions draw on August 8th. The ticket was purchased at the Summit Food Store, located at 1900 Highway 18 in West Point. According to the rules in this state, lottery winners have up to 180 to claim their prizes and if this mysterious person doesn’t come forward until February 4th the ticket will expire. If that happens, $1.000.000 will be transferred to one of educational programs funded by the Georgia Lottery Corporation.
Mega Millions has been rolling over since January 5th when 20-year-old Shane Missler scooped a life-changing $451.000.000 windfall. The Florida resident said he has no intention of falling into a trap like many young lotto millionaires before him – he took financial management courses and formed a limited liability company before officially claiming the prize.
“I feel so fortunate to have this incredible wealth and team behind me. Intend to take care of my family, have some fun along the way and cement a path for financial success so that I can leave a legacy far into the future. I hope to use it to pursue a variety of passions, help my family and do some good for humanity,” explained Missler.
You could do the same after the next Powerball draw – this game is currently offering a staggering jackpot worth $700.000.000!
