February 22nd was a historic day for Powerball enthusiasts in Indiana – it was the night when one player from Lafayette became the richest lottery millionaire ever produced in this state. The fortunate man scooped $435.300.000, and set up a trust to claim this incredible windfall on his behalf. Powerball jackpot hasn’t been won since then – buy a ticket here and a fantastic $123.000.000 cash reward could end up in your hands!

The first Powerball prize of the year, and the 10th largest one in this game’s history, was snatched on February 22nd when the mystery punter from Lafayette correctly guessed the winning numbers 10, 13, 28, 52, 61 plus the Power Ball 2. He decided to remain anonymous and sent a representative from Bohemian Financial LLC to collect the money on his behalf.

According to Jennifer Dzwonar, the winner’s spokesperson, he used to buy lotto tickets on his way to work every once in a while, and decided to do it this time because the prize was too big to resist. On the morning after the draw, the fortunate man checked the numbers online and after discovering where the winning ticket was sold he immediately started looking for his, only to find out it was worth $435.300.000!

“Once he saw the numbers matched, he couldn’t sleep. He tried calling his brother later that morning, but he didn’t answer. He then called his dad, who joked, ‘I thought you were calling to say that you won the lottery?’ to which the winner replied, ‘Maybe I did!’” said Dzwonar.

Not much is known about the winner, apart from the fact that he is a Purdue University graduate who works at a Lafayette manufacturing facility. He doesn’t plan to move from Indiana any time soon, and he’ll use the money to buy a new home, travel and donate money to charity.

“The winner is very family oriented and close to his siblings and parents. He plans to give some money to family, to help family members pay for their education, and maybe earn an advanced degree himself,” explained Dzwonar.
